The First Cup

Hello Webfolks,

Like the first cup of coffee in the morning I hope that this blog will be something you look forward to, enjoy the taste of, and indulge in often with little or no regrets. Various topics dealing with 'hot' cultural issues, church, religion, Jesus, culture (and isn't this a loaded word nowadays?) and even occasionally good coffee will be some of the fiery topics covered.

I have the privilege of being the spiritual leader for a great group of people in Portland Oregon. They call themselves Immanuel Christian Fellowship and although I have been with them only a short period of time I have come to enjoy sharing the journey with them. They sing songs filled with hope and love, songs about brokenness and life, and most importantly songs about God. They laugh and cry, they love and hate, they walk and they sit down and take a rest from the trip regularly. They dance (I haven't actually seen them do this. However in hushed whispers they have discussed this hot topic and so I am inclined to think they cut the proverbial rug at home). Most importantly they believe with all their hearts they have found true LIFE and that this true LIFE is named Jesus Christ. I agree.

In short...they are on the same journey I am on and that makes us friends.
